Deputy Fire Chief Jason Fullmer (California)

Founder of A.O.T.C.

French Camp McKinley Fire District

29 years in the fire service

As a Husband, father of 3 kids, I coach baseball and enjoy spending time with my family. I have been in the fire service for 28 years, started as a volunteer fireman. My dad was a fireman and a fire chief, he spent 25 years in the service, he passed from lung cancer in February 2023. He was my best friend, mentor and role model. When Gino started the Chief Ed Fullmer Memorial Scholarship Fund is was a huge honor. My grandfather was a fireman along with numerous other family members. I have a passion for the job and remain a student of the craft to this day. I founded AOTC in 2016 as a way to give back to the job that I love so much and to keep passing on the craft.

Favorite subject: Engine Work

FIREFIGHTER NICK WAITES (IDAHO)

Northern Lakes Fire Department

I’m currently 8 years on the job and am a second-generation fireman. I was raised with the passion of the job and strive to pass that on every day. I am the current president of the Coeur FOOLS and a lead academy instructor for my department while still riding the back step.

I found the passion of training through attending multiple classes and conferences, but mainly from drills with my crew. This job is unlike any other and in my eyes the best one out there, I hope I can pass that on to some folks.

Favorite subjects: Forcible entry, search, water can work, and how to enjoy a cold beer after a HOT class.

Firefighter Michael Goldstein (New Hampshire)

Derry Fire Department

Mike Goldstein is a firefighter, instructor, speaker, and host of The CAN Report podcast. With more than 20 years of experience in emergency services, Mike began his first responder career as a dispatcher before transitioning into the fire service, where he has served for the past 14 years in both call and career firefighting roles.

Passionate about firefighter development and professional growth, Mike serves as a Part-Time Staff and State Instructor for the New Hampshire Fire Academy. Throughout his career, he has been committed to advancing the knowledge, skills, and confidence of firefighters at every stage of their journey.

Mike is a firm believer that learning never stops. He regularly travels throughout the country attending conferences, training events, and leadership programs as both a student and presenter. His philosophy is simple: firefighters must get outside their own zip code, challenge their perspectives, and learn from others to bring valuable lessons back to their departments and communities.

As the founder and host of The CAN Report, a firefighter-focused podcast based in New Hampshire, Mike has built a platform dedicated to sharing the stories, experiences, and lessons learned from first responders across the fire service and beyond. What began as a passion project has grown into a respected outlet for meaningful conversations surrounding leadership, culture, resilience, mental health, training, and the traditions that define the profession. Through The CAN Report, Mike strives to highlight both the successes and struggles of those who serve, creating opportunities for learning, reflection, and growth throughout the emergency services community.

Travis is a Husband, father and firefighter for the City of Southaven MS.  He is also the secretary chair and instructor for Old South FOOLS. He has spent the last 10 years being a student of the craft as a backstep fireman and lover of the “senior firefighter position”

“My love for instructing came about organically through a love for being a backstep firemen and taking pride in mastering that position. I’ve always enjoyed passing on to other firefighters a love for mastering the so called “basics.” I’ve spent most of my career at departments with low staffing and poor resources where firemen are expected to be able to do a lot more with less. Where knowing the job is a necessity and make or break”
